I'm thankful for....2020 edition!
Happy Thanksgiving! Although Thanksgiving this year in 2020 looks really different than normal, I always like to take this time to sit back and reflect on what I’m thankful for.
Do 1st graders do this same exercise? Yes. But I don’t think you can ever outgrow self-reflection.
Without further ado, here’s what I’m most thankful for in this moment.
My husband who is currently at home watching the “kids” (aka our dog & cat) so I can travel to NAM Nationals knowing they aren’t stuck at a kennel.
The non-stigma of setting up Christmas decor early this year. Because 2020 can use ALL the joy we can get. The Target dollar section was set for the holidays and I walked away with 8 mini glittery Christmas trees. No regrets.
Bravery for quitting corporate in the middle of the pandemic. The more time I’ve been able to spend focusing on photography full-time, the more thankful I am for all the supportive friends & family who told me I could make this crazy dream of mine work.
The sushi place 5 min from us: Sushi is the way to my heart and having a small business with some of the BEST sushi I’ve ever had on doordash? Let’s just say we order from there so much they know us by name now.
Tik Tok. It’s keeping me sane & entertained.
Our home. My husband & I bought out first home in December last year, and proceeded to turn our basement + sport court into a full-on photography studio. With us spending SO much time in our house this year, I’m so thankful for the extra space, safe place to work with my clients, and my beautiful office I get to work out of every day.
Pageant Directors who have painstakingly scheduled, re-scheduled, and executed national pageants with guidelines to mitigate the risk of COVID. Although there is inherent risk to pageants taking place, I am soooo thankful for their efforts to hold safe events & give everyone at least ONE thing thing to look forward to this year.
NPR, CNN, Pfizer who continue to deliver news, hope, and a little side of sass.
My nation-wide list of clients & everyone who makes photoshoots happen. I am beyond thankful that this year I’ve been able to work with clients all across the country. My instagram DMs are filled with questions of travel all the time, and I’m just so honored that my love of photography is becoming known nationally.
