Miss USA & Teen USA Jungle Photoshoot

Welcome to the Miss USA Jungle

I was so excited to bring this jungle themed photoshoot to life for the Miss USA & Teen USA states I sponsor. The origin of the theme’s idea came to me during August when I was watching #BamaRush tik toks. If you’re unfamiliar, Alabama has one of the most intense & social media heavy sorority rush processes, and it’s fun to see the process unfold online. This got me thinking of the time I led sorority recruitment when I was a VP on my sorority executive board. One of the trendy themes was colorful aztec prints, which paired well with lots of greenery.

Revisiting this thematic idea, I thought how fun it would be to mesh bold prints & jungle together again. I ordered a dark jungle background, found some greenery plants & made them “bloom” with some colorful fake florals from Michaels. We added a smoke machine, fun accessories, and of course some crowns & banners.

The Miss USA & Teen USA contestants were in town in Minneapolis for their Pageant Power week, a weekend dedicated to preparing and polishing the Future Productions titleholders before they headed off to Miss USA the next week. Our on-set chats consisted of who their roommates were, if their gowns were back from alternations yet, if they had started packing etc. It was such an exciting time to be able to support these titleholders while they got into “competition mode.”

Fun fact: this shoot was the first time I told any client that I was pregnant!

Enjoy checking out the behind the scenes fun of our shoot day and the beatiful final images we created.
